Standards of Behavior

Past Post - 11/24/17

As the season is now into swing we have taken the time as a team to create the team's standards of behavior. These standards are taking the place of our goals. Goals open us to think we were not successful if not met. What if the competition does not allow us to meet the goals set. We first need to focus on what we need to do to be successful as a team. That is our Standards of Behavior. If we work as hard as we can and complete the standards, success will follow. These standards will set us up for success over the long haul. The focus is on the process of development and completion of the standards.

Here are the standards for the 2017-2018 team.

1. Offense – Using ball reversals and dribble penetration for open lay-ups, jump shots and fouls.

2. Individual Offense – Being prepared and engaged to do your job fundamentally sounds.

3. Defense – Keep the ball out of the paint to create contested jump shots.

4. Rebounding – Consistently hit, drive and get

5. Transition Defense – Get back, pick-up and slow the transition of the ball.

6. Transition Offense – Run to your spot, prepared for your job, ready to attack

7. Practice – Energy filled game-like environment to make each other better.

8. Attitude – 100% effort while learning and helping others

9. Classroom – Through respect and kindness leaders that help others and complete their tasks

10. Outside of School – Be smart, respect others while reflecting a Christ-like lifestyle.
