What a game between rivals as Alabama welcomed Auburn with hopes of holding onto a share of first place in the SEC standings. Auburn came into the game ready and jumped on Alabama early and held a 12-4 lead to start the game. Alabama responded and overcame the deficit and more to hold a 14 point lead at halftime. The battle was not over as Auburn responded in the second half and fought all the way back to take the lead 58-57 eleven minutes into the second half. Alabama responded quickly and from that point it was a fight to the finish with Alabama finishing off the fight with a 79-75 win and keeping a hold on their share of first place.
Here are a couple of plays/actions used in this SEC battle.
Alabama - Dribble Handoff Actions
Alabama used handoffs in multiple ways to generated shots or rolling actions for great opportunities both from behind the 3 point line or at the rim.
Auburn - SLOB Double Stagger
During the first half Auburn used a double staggered screen on a SLOB to get a nice open look. The inbounder passed the ball in to a lane line to rotate to the opposite lane line. After passing both the inbounder and the lane line big set a staggered screen for the shooter on the baseline.
